FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 15, 2026
Brentwood Bay, BC — Brentwood Bay Resort is proud to announce that its beloved pub has officially been renamed The Lodge Kitchen & Bar, embracing the name locals have affectionately used for years when referring to The Pub at Brentwood Bay Resort. The name change honours the strong relationship the restaurant has built with the surrounding community and reflects the team’s continued commitment to the community of Brentwood Bay.
Over the years, Director of Food & Beverage, Adam Ames, has cultivated a service team that truly represents the spirit of the Saanich Peninsula. The atmosphere created at The Lodge is one where locals and visitors alike truly feel at home. Alongside Ames, Chef de Cuisine, Ross Maldo, has a culinary philosophy rooted in quality, consistency, and fresh, local ingredients. The menu is designed with value in mind, delivering portions that satisfy and prices that allow guests to come back regularly. Rooted in the community, his menu blends the classics with thoughtfully curated signature dishes, enhanced by weekend brunch, rotating fresh sheets, and special occasion features, all designed with locals at heart.
“Chef Ross has been an anchor in our kitchen throughout this transition — the work his culinary team puts in every day really brings the whole guest experience together,” says Ames.
Over time, The Lodge has naturally become a gathering place for locals — somewhere to celebrate milestones, meet friends after work, or simply enjoy the view across the water. The team is energized to continue showcasing the Saanich Peninsula for the people who live, work, and visit here.
“We’re in an amazing location, surrounded by incredible local producers, and we have a team that genuinely cares about the experience we create for our guests,” says the Director of Food & Beverage.
Ames has always believed true hospitality is natural and genuine, where people can relax and feel taken care of from the moment they arrive. “Hospitality should feel like you’re part of the community whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town” says Ames. Maldo wants his guests to leave feeling satisfied and well taken care of. Surrounded by the Saanich Peninsula’s strong farm-to-table culture and an abundance of fresh West Coast seafood, the kitchen draws on exceptional local ingredients. It’s this connection between community and cuisine that allows each dish to tell a story.
With a stunning backdrop just steps from the Saanich Inlet, a culinary team that is passionately connected to the land around it, and a hospitality team that embodies warm, intuitive service, The Lodge is committed to delivering an experience that feels both elevated and entirely at ease.
“The Lodge is rooted in the community and the menu is designed to reflect the people, culture, and local ingredients.” — Ross Maldo, Chef de Cuisine
