The Arbutus Room and The Lodge Kitchen & Bar at Brentwood Bay Resort Earn 2026 Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards

Two Brentwood Bay Resort restaurants recognized among the world’s top destinations for wine

Victoria, BC, June 23, 2026 — Brentwood Bay Resort is proud to announce that The Arbutus Room and The Lodge Kitchen & Bar have both been recognized in Wine Spectator’s 2026 Restaurant Awards, earning the prestigious Award of Excellence for their outstanding wine programs.

The annual Restaurant Awards celebrate the world’s best restaurants for wine, recognizing establishments whose thoughtfully curated wine lists enhance the dining experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to wine service and hospitality.

“The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink. As wine drinkers grow more mindful, restaurants are adapting with creative wine programs,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Chairman and CEO, Wine Spectator. “Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success.”

“Receiving Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence is an incredible honour and a reflection of our team’s passion for creating memorable wine experiences,” said Adriano Cartuliares, Sommelier at The Arbutus Room. “Our wine program is built around discovery — from celebrating exceptional British Columbia producers to showcasing renowned wine regions from around the world. Every bottle is selected to complement our seasonal cuisine and inspire meaningful connections between guests, food, and wine. We’re proud to be recognized for a program that continues to evolve while remaining rooted in hospitality and a genuine love of wine.”

“Having both The Arbutus Room and The Lodge Kitchen & Bar recognized by Wine Spectator is a proud moment for our entire Food & Beverage team,” said Adam Ames, Director of Food & Beverage at Brentwood Bay Resort. “Our wine program has been shaped by a collaborative team that cares deeply about understanding what our guests enjoy, while continuing to support exceptional Vancouver Island and British Columbia producers alongside respected international wine regions. Each list reflects thoughtful decisions made by our team to create approachable, memorable experiences that connect our guests with great food, great wine and genuine hospitality.”

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards recognize excellence in restaurant wine service across three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 2,083, 1,830, and 99 winners this year in each respective category.

The Arbutus Room at Brentwood Bay Resort and The Lodge Kitchen & Bar have won the Award of Excellence.

The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer at least 75 selections and feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
