Brentwood Bay Resort is collaborating with Power To Be, a Victoria-based nonprofit, to foster inclusivity in nature and create transformative outdoor experiences for individuals facing barriers.
Power To Be believes that everyone belongs in nature. Their mission is to empower people to explore their limitless abilities through inclusive nature-based programs. By providing access to outdoor adventures, Power To Be enhances individual well-being, builds confidence, and fosters a deeper connection to the environment. Their programs create meaningful opportunities for people living with disabilities or barriers to experience the benefits of nature, making Victoria a more inclusive and sustainable destination.
Advancing sustainable and regenerative tourism principles, Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program creates a formalized, third-party validated giving program for hotels to mobilize funds for local nonprofits with every guest stay. Kind Traveler verifies monthly donations and publishes a live ESGB dashboard, showcasing the measurable impact of these contributions. This dashboard also educates travellers on how their spending is reinvested into the community and provides additional opportunities for guests to support the cause through a ‘How to Travel Kindly’ section.
A $1 nightly community impact fee will go directly to Power To Be, and Brentwood Bay Resort will proudly match every dollar contributed by guests, doubling the impact. 100% of donations will support Power To Be’s programs, ensuring more individuals can access life-changing outdoor experiences.
For every $10 raised through Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program, Power To Be can provide essential gear and support for individuals participating in outdoor excursions, enabling them to connect with nature in a safe and inclusive way.
Nearly 97% of travelers polled in Kind Traveler’s 2022 Impact Tourism Report want their travel dollars to make a positive impact in the communities they visit. The partnership between Brentwood Bay Resort, Power To Be, and Kind Traveler provides an easy and meaningful way for travelers to support the local community while making conscientious and responsible travel decisions.
